Cliche as it is, here's a Boxing workout on Boxing Day 2015.
This can take as little as 4 minutes of your day or you can repeat any of the two stages I've provided here using DIY equipment. If you're conscious of eating and drinking to much over Christmas, this'll sort you out.
H.I.I.T Fat Boxing
In this
video I will show you how to complete a fast workout that burns fat using
boxing movements with the Tabata Training Method.
Tabata
is the name of a Japanese researcher who discovered an interesting way to
increase both anaerobic and aerobic pathways at the same time. As far as
metabolic training and conditioning for sport goes, this is the king of all
methods.
Tabata
involves exercising single or various muscle groups for 8 sets of 20 seconds
work with 10 seconds rest between each set (4 minutes). Complete 8 rounds
before starting the next exercise or group of exercises and so on for the
entire workout.
It's
simple:
- take one or many exercise and
perform it in the following manner:
- For twenty seconds, do as many
repetitions as possible.
- Rest for ten seconds
- Continue seven more times!
In this
video, I demonstrate two stages to the workout. Stage 1 is four exercises done
twice. Stage 2 is four new exercises down twice. This can be the complete
workout or you can repeat any of the stages as many times as you like to get a
full workout.
The
exercise I use here to demonstrate the Tabata method is;
Stage 1 – Warm Up
1.
Skipping High Knees
2.
Straight Punches w. Resistance Band
3.
Skipping Heel Kicks
4. Band
Rips
Stage 2 – Boxing Workout
5.
Combination 1, 2 (Lead Jab, Rear Cross)
6.
Combination 5, 6 (Lead Rip, Rear Rip)
7.
Combination 1, 2 continuous
8.
Combination 5, 6 continuous
You can
choose other favourite exercises using a similar method. Purchase great Tabata
tracks from ITunes or get free ones from YouTube or whatever music gets you
inspired and motivated to go hard.
