CHANGE “I CAN’T’ INTO “I CAN”

CHANGE “I CAN’T’ INTO “I CAN” AND PRETTY SOON YOU WILL SAY “I DID”. Unknown

What a bold and ballsy motivational quote. This is one of my favourites and along with a song JUMP, I have decided to lift myself out of my comfort zone and bare my arse in the world of entrepreneurialism again after years of slaving for someone else's dream.

WHAT IS COMFORT ZONE TO ME
Comfort zone is on what I perceive as nice, warm and fuzzy. It's knowing that you have a balance on any of the following life factors which gives us security. In the animal kingdom this would be like a Lion with a nice den and pride that they are taking care of and managing well.

COMFORT FACTORS
  • Physical - Health is good order and roof over head, warm bed and nice clean clothes
  • Spiritual - Your guiding your head and mind where your gut instincts are soft and warm
  • Emotional - Low stress levels and harmony at home, work and in public
  • Financial - Bills are paid and savings are made
  • Social - Getting along well with others, family and friends

There are plenty of others but this gives you a rough idea of what I see as being vital for all-round health and longevity as a happy camper. Getting an even balance between all these can be challenging but in many cases is doable with management and patience.

OUTTA WACK
If any of these is out of place or becoming a constant challenge or issue that grows and cannot be contained within your powers, then it becomes a survival mechanism - 'Fight or Flight'. If you value what you protect and perceive as being a need vs. a want, then managing any hic ups are immediate challenges.

OUR JOURNEY
To let you in on a personal journey and by way of bloging this I am telling the universe, that if I feel that any of my comfort factors cannot be contained to the level that I value, then its first Fight then Flight. Out of ten (1 being bad and 10 being awesome) I rate each one often. If its any lower than 80% (8/10), it will get an orange flag. If it gets to Red, then this is too late. This means that I should have recognised it, dealt with it and move on. If it kept popping its ugly head and was either out of my control or not in the direction where my gut was at ease, then it was Arrivderci (goodbye - Italian). Close it, move forward and don;t look back otherwise you'll get a sore neck. In other words "JUMP, GO AHEAD JUMP"!

TAKE HOME MESSAGE
Grow some (metaphorical) balls and fight it until its done. That could be a physical challenge or an financial burden. Deal with it and then move forward. Bury the old and search for the new. So change the thoughts of 'I can't and pretty soon you will do' = I Can.
There are a million other challenges facing us ahead so look ahead in preparation for them. It's the new challenges that you need to be ready for not the old bastards behind you. I was told from a SAS mate of mine the one day about little challenges in life and how he faced them. Hearing the thoughts from a highly trained killing machine about managing fears, challenges and ways in which they can be managed is refreshing in a world of re-tweets and re-posts. He said "Mate I might not win all the battles, but I will win the war"!
